6U / 8U Winter Training Clinics:

Big Lake Softball is excited to offer several winter clinic opportunities for players of all ages. These clinics are a great way for your daughter to get quality instruction, build confidence, and continue her growth in the sport of softball.

Please carefully review the clinics for your daughter’s age group below and use the appropriate registration links to sign up by December 1st.

You may make a request for specific times or to pair your daughter with another player for rides. We will do our best to honor these requests, but this is not always possible. After registration closes on December 1st, you will receive an email with your daughter’s assigned time and payment information.

Current enrollment as of 11/26/2025:

• Fielding & Throwing Clinic: 10 athletes registered

• Introduction to Pitching: 2 athletes registered

Former St. Ben’s and Big Lake softball player Addy Bowne will be offering a four-week Fielding and Throwing Clinic in December and January.

Fielding & Throwing Clinic (4 weeks)
Because of limited gym space, clinic times will vary.

Dates & Time Blocks:

• Dec. 7: 12:30–2:30 pm

• Dec. 14: 8:00–10:00 am

• Jan. 11: 10:00 am–12:00 pm

• Jan. 25: 10:00 am–12:00 pm

Sessions will be 45 minutes each.
Cost: $30 for all four sessions.

We will also be offering a two-session Introduction to Pitching Clinic. These two 30-minute sessions will give your daughter the chance to see what pitching clinic is like and decide if she wants to commit to a six-week clinic held in January and February. This introductory clinic will also be led by Addy Bowne.

Introduction to Pitching (2 sessions)
Dates: Dec. 7 and Dec. 14
Time Window: Between 2:30–6:00 pm (exact 30-minute time slot will be assigned)
Cost: $10 for the two sessions.

10U–18U Clinics

We are excited to announce our winter pitching and hitting clinics for players in 10U through High School.

Please register by December 1st and feel free to include requests for times or carpool pairings. We will do our best to accommodate, but it may not always be possible. After registration closes, you will receive an email with your daughter’s assigned time and payment information.

Beginner Pitching Clinic (No Previous Experience)

Dates:

• Jan. 11, 18, 25

• Feb. 1, 15, 22

Time Window: 3:00–6:00 pm (30-minute session within this window)
Who: Players with no previous pitching experience
Session Length: 30 minutes
Cost: $75 for six sessions

Bonus: Players who attend at least 4 out of the 6 sessions will have their registration fee refunded, making this clinic free.

This clinic is run by St. Ben’s pitching coach and former Big Lake and Mankato State player, Chelsea Thomes.
Players will need to bring an adult catcher for each session.

Experienced Pitching Clinic (Prior Experience)

Dates:

• Jan. 11, 18, 25

• Feb. 1, 15, 22

Time Window: 3:00–6:00 pm (1-hour session within this window)
Who: Players with previous pitching experience
Session Length: 1 hour
Cost: $150 for six sessions

This clinic is also run by St. Ben’s pitching coach and former Big Lake and Mankato State player, Chelsea Thomes.
Players will need to bring a catcher for each session. At younger ages, it is recommended to use an adult catcher when possible.

Hitting Clinic (All 10U–HS Hitters)

• Jan. 25

• Feb. 15

Time: 12:30–2:00 pm
Session Length: 45 minutes
Cost: $57 for all three sessions

This clinic is run by former Big Lake and Midwest Speed players, Sydnie and Izzy Loftus.
