Big Lake Fast Pitch Association has prepared a plan to continue playing softball throughout these unprecedented times of COVID-19. As always, our top priority is the health and safety of all players, coaches and families.
We are happy to report that we will begin Skills Practices on Sunday, January 10, 2021! Skills Practices will be held at the Big Lake High School gymnasium Sunday evenings from 6 – 8 PM beginning January 3, 2021 through February 21, 2021 as well as Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Please note there will not be a skills practice on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Because we are in the midst of a global pandemic, it will be necessary for us to take a few extra precautions to ensure the safety for all.
1. We ask that all families perform an at home health screening immediately prior to attending each practice. Players should not attend if they are feeling ill, have a fever or have 2 or more of the following COVID-19 symptoms.
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
2. All players should bring their own softball glove, bat, batting gloves and water bottle. Please note: the water fountains will be turned off so it will be necessary for each player to bring their own water bottle
3. Practice good hygiene by washing hands immediately prior/after entering the building. There will be hand sanitizer available in the Gym.
4. Face coverings will be required at all times when in the building.
5. There will be no spectators allowed in the building during Skills Practices. Players must be dropped off and picked up at their designated times. Pitching Clinic participants must still bring their own catcher with a COVID face mask.
6. Any positive COVID-19 case must be reported to Sara Nohrenberg-Secretary, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Coach Bowen has sent emails to all participants with group assignments and start times for both Hitting and Pitching Clinics. If you have not received a time slot, please contact her at email@example.com
Payment - Please bring a check to your first training session made out to BLFPA or no later than January 31, 2021.
Happy New Year!
BLFPA is offering a 7-week hitting skills clinic for Big Lake Fastpitch players in grades 4-12. This clinic is for players serious about developing their hitting skills. The clinic will be conducted by former University of Minnesota player, Kayla Wenner! She is currently an instructor at Complete Game Softball.
When: The clinic will be held on Sunday afternoons, Jan. 10,17,24,31 and Feb. 7,14, 21. Each hitting session will last one hour. The sessions will be held from noon-3:00 pm with girls put into sessions based on ability.
Where: The sessions will all be held at the Big Lake High School.
Cost: $120 with payment due by January 31st
Registration Deadline: January 1, 2020.
It is time to sign up for pitching and hitting clinics!
For the second year we are offering Introductory Pitching. This special session is for 8u and 10u players that are new to pitching and is FREE! Sessions will be 30 minutes long. The deposit to participate will be an $85 check post dated to February 28, however, if your daughter attends at least 6 of the 10 sessions your deposit will NOT be cashed. This is a great opportunity for girls that think they might like to try pitching to do so at no cost to you.
In addition, we will run our normal hour long pitching session for girls that have prior experience. The cost for pitching is $153 for 9 sessions. Pitching dates are Jan. 10,17,24 31, Feb. 14, 21, 28, March 7,14th. Times will be assigned by age from 2-6 pm. Each pitcher must have someone to catch for her every week. It works best for an adult to catch, especially at the younger ages.
To register, click on the link below. After you register, more information will be sent regarding payment, clinic locations, and pitching times. All regular clinic payments may be post dated to January 31, 2021 and Introductory Pitching Clinic deposits post dated to February 28, 2021 to ease any holiday cash concerns. Space is limited in all sessions so register early. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
